The technique of endoscopy in facial rejuvenation is a new approach that has fascinated surgeons and patients for their ability to do face-lifting without removing skin. This new technique also avoids indistinct, tense faces and transversely elongated mouths that looks like being in a wind tunnel that stretches the face laterally and upwards. This plastic surgery procedure uses endoscopic techniques to perform not only facial rejuvenation, but facial beautification and/or enhancement.

To explain further, endoscopy is a type of surgical technique that prevents the need for long incisions, allows faster healing and generally results in fewer side effects than traditional techniques.

To rejuvenate the face the patient would require; an endoscopic forehead lift, an endoscopic midfacelift, an endoscopic eyebrow lift, endoscopic insertion of implants (cheek, chin, prejowl, mandibular matrix), endoscopic neck lift or a combination of any of the above procedures. Together with a face lift, eyelid surgery, aesthetic nose operation, chin augmentation, chin reduction, liposuction to the under part of the chin, fat and tissue injection can also be applied.

The cheek’s being in one piece, plump, projected and elevated over the malar makes a woman look young, healthy and attractive.

POSITIONING EYEBROW & STAR EYES

Another foundation of the face is the position of the eyebrow. The elongation of the edge of the eyebrow like an arc, illumination of the upper outer dial of the eye gives a woman an attractive (star eyes) appearance.

Corrects the sagging of the cheek in malar (cheek) region and the two deep curves (nasolabial curve and tear trough). Provides a healthy, plump malar.

DEEP PLANE (SubSMAS) CHEEK LIFTING: It is a very efficient method to shape the corner of the mouth and the chin contour and also in rejuvenation while malar region is dissolved by endoscopic method.

NECK LIFTING: Neck lifting process is generally applied together with the midface lifting and deep plane surgery. Sagging of the neck and wrinkles are removed, a tight appearance of the neck is obtained. Since this incision is made at the back of the ear, no visible scar will be present.

ENDOSCOPIC MEDIUM FACE LIFTING & CLASSICAL FACE/NECK LIFTING: Rejuvenation of the forehead, temple region, eyebrows, lower eyelid, cheek region (tear trough deformities), nose-cheek curve (nasolabial fold) and mouth contour are denominated as medium face lifting. It is a hidden operation performed at the bone level (subperiosteal) by endoscopic method with incisions of 1-1.5 cm inside the hairy area and 1cm inside the mouth. Since it has short and hidden scars, is referred to as face lifting without scars. 

In the anterior part of the ear, chin contour or neck region, classical face lifting technique is applied. These scars are hidden inside and back of the ear. No visible scar is present on the outside. Its results are long lasting.

TRIPLANAR FACELIFTING (Face Lifting in Three Different Depths): It is denomination of the combination in which over the malar bone is rejuvenated as subperiosteal endoscopic, the corner of the mouth and the chin contour is rejuvenated in sub-SMAS deep plane and the neck is rejuvenated as muscle and skin.

If combined with peeling; it is appropriate to call this “FOUR PLANE FACE LIFTING”.

OPERATION

The operation is conducted under general anaesthesia. The process, applied to each facial region lasts for one and a half to two hours; whole face lifting is a process that can last for four to six hours.

The face is covered with a slightly pressurized bandage for two to three days following the operation. After the operation, complaints like pain, the sensation of tightening, swelling, bruising and numbness on the surface of the skin can be present. The pain is not disturbing and can easily be controlled with pain killers. 

During the first couple of weeks in which the swelling is organized, the sensation of tightness and numbness also subside.

POST OPERATION

The disappearance of possible bruises on the operation site varies according to the skin type. This period can expand to fifteen days in people with sensitive skin.

You can return back to work 2 weeks after the surgery, but the swellings may still be the case up to 4 weeks. The final results will be seen in 3 months up to a year .

The surgeons advise to keep your face from direct sun for 6 months.
