Breast reduction and Breast Uplift reduces the breast volume by removing breast tissue, fat and skin.  The breasts are essentially cut to size and then reshape to a new, smaller shape.

Usually the nipple is repositioned and reduced. The surgeon may also balance the size of the breasts with each other, if needed. 

In most cases, 3 incisions are required; one around the areola, one under the crease of the breast and another one in a vertical line between them.  The excess skin and tissue will be removed; the nipple repositioned and the skin under the nipple stitched together to form an anchor shape. 

For smaller breasts; Vertical technique may be applied by the surgeon. Incisions will be around the areola and vertical line, but not in the crease line of the breasts.

The scars will fade away in months and may settle down up to one year. The aim of this type of cosmetic surgery is to give you smaller breasts that are in proportion to the rest of your body and in better shape and also reduce some of the uncomfortable symptoms associated with large breasts; such as back pain. 

OPERATION

The operation is performed under general anaesthesia and takes about 2 to 3.5 hours depending on each individual case. The breast will be bandaged for support and likely to have drainage tubes attached to the operation site, to remove any excess fluid that may gather. You will be given pain killers and/or medication as required.

POST OPERATION

You will wear supportive bra up to 4-6 weeks. You won't  be allowed to lift any heavy objects or do any exercise for around a month or more.

You may find that you can't really feel your nipple or part of your breast for a while but this should pass eventually.

You will be followed by your patient co-ordinator when you back home to make sure you have no problem. Our records show that it is highly unlikely that you will have a problem, but our surgeons and patient co-ordinators are committed to solve any problem or your concerns.
